AquaTox offers acute and chronic toxicity tests with fish, invertebrates, plants and bacteria.  Our suite of tests include ready biodegradability tests, as well as tests to assess the effects of a substance on microorganisms from activated sludge of wastewater treatment plants.

Test methods include Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), OECD, ISO, ASTM, US EPA, and others.  Our technicians and toxicologists have been involved in the development and refinement of many of the ECCC methods, giving our team unique insight and the necessary experience to provide the highest quality data to our clients.

Our staff can enter clients' toxicity data directly into Environment and Climate Change Canada's Regulatory Information Submission System (RISS).

GLP Testing

AquaTox is recognized for OECD GLP compliance by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC).  Under the Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) between laboratory accreditation organizations, each organization recognizes the equivalence of the accreditation performed by its overseas counterparts and promotes the equivalence of such accreditation within its own economy.

Our GLP recognized facility provides comprehensive testing services in support of international product registration for a range of regulatory programs including REACH, New Substances Notification (NSN), High Production Volume (HPV) programs.   Through associated laboratories, we provide mammalian testing and specialized analytical chemistry.
